About Me

I've been a Therapist since 2002 and totally love my work!  What could be more fulfilling than meeting people in pain and knowing that there is usually something that I can do that will make them feel better?

I am happily married and have 3 gorgeous children who are now all at school - which means that most of my appointments tend to be during the day, unless I have plenty of notice!

As well as running my own health and wellbeing clinic, I am a Director within Performance Through People Ltd which focuses on improving the performance of both students and employees.

I am a member of BTPA (Bowen Therapy Professional Association) and CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).  I am Co-Founder and Organiser of the Bury Bowen Children's Clinic which opened in July 2007. The Bowen Children's Clinic is a not-for-profit organisation which is funded by donations and run by fully-qualified volunteers. Clinic dates and times are available on my "Bowen" page.

I also hold a voluntary role within the BTPA, as Children's Clinic Co-Ordinator, which involves publishing regular articles, being an advisor to almost forty Bowen Children's Clinics within the UK and regularly posting on the Bowen Children's Clinic Twitter Page and Bowen Children's Clinic Facebook Page

So, how did I get into all of this?

In 2002 I injured my back. I bent over (badly) to pick up my toddler. The next thing was, I had a searing pain rip through my spine and I couldn't move at all. A relative arranged for a Bowen therapist to come to the house that day and give me a treatment. I was very sceptical, he hardly touched me and by the end of the treatment I didn't feel any different! The next day however, my back had started to ease considerably and I was able to move more comfortably. The day after, my back pain had gone completely - I was walking around like nothing had ever happened! I was stunned and decided that if it truly was Bowen that fixed my back, then I wanted to learn how to do this "magical" therapy.

I was still feeling slightly sceptical when I started my Bowen training. After the first block of training we were instructed to gather 10 volunteers and give them 3 treatments each and so I decided to enlist the help of some good friends who I knew had some quite significant complaints, including a footballer (unable to play due to a long term knee injury) a rugby player (with a shoulder problem), a fireman (with various injuries) and a pensioner (with back pain.) All of my case studies improved considerably during the course of their treatment - including the footballer who can now ski comfortably as well as play football after just 3 treatments ... almost 10 years ago!

When I started my Manchester clinic back in 2003, I had no idea how successful it was going to become. I now have a thriving clinic in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and have incorporated a selection of additional therapies which now enable me to focus on the emotional wellbeing of my clients. These therapies complement one another perfectly and allow me to tailor my treatments to meet the need of each individual client, with excellent results most of the time!

I have a no-nonsense approach to my work.  I only use therapies which I have tried and tested for myself and I am confident that they will work for the majority of my clients.  My policy is to use whichever combinations of therapies are necessary, to get my clients well in as few sessions as possible (in many cases between 1 and 3 treatments is sufficient!)
